Invasion of the Nids! Kill Team Ravagers

Image
I painted up this team in a little bit f a rus. I'm not a great fan of tyranids or of contrast paint, so I kinda screwed myself over doing these in contrast paint. It dort of works, but there's a part of me that wants to go back and just do them in black const rast and add some subtle details in eye popping neons hear and there. I think they'd look meaner darker. But hey ho, here they are, I'm trying to work out what they do in the Kill team game, they seem to be just about the tunnel. This seems like it's a bit of a dull game mechanic, I jut take my guys and hide them. Then pop out and kill you. Any how here they are, not great pics either, sorry.

Kill Team - Tombworld

Image
GW shoved out another tasty Kill Team box recenty; Tombworld. It's a kinda Necron Gallowdark, a set of interlocking walls with a few other features. There is a nice little scene for Kill team in Portsmouth with four regular players, including me.  We decided to get to gether to paint up the new terrain so we could play about with it, as it seems to be a part of the terrain selection for tournaments. Here is it, we undercoated everything black, did a nadir coat with while spray to get an underglow, then followed up with bright green spray to give the light some colour. Then the lit elements f the terrain were picked out in blue to set if off rom the green, a few metalic touches here and there to the abandned necrons who are part of the walls and the little scarabs climbing everywhere and we were done. There were some arrows added on the top to highlight where the doors are. It took three of us most of a Sunday to complete it, a job well done I think. :)

Necropolis 28 Event - An Argent host

I really enjoy the smaller indie games and the one I like the most is Necropolis28, a smashing little diorama game where everything is dead. One of the best things about Necro28 is the fantastic community built around it. The highlights of this lovely scene are the fab events that are held about the place. The absolute pinnacle are the events held at Stadhampton and hosted by the most benevolent Pete himself.  I went to my third Stadhampton session on the 20th of September and it was an absolute blast, one of the best wargaming events I have ever been to. Like the other indie events, the day is dominated by people being fantasticly creative. The whole vibe is creative assembly, there are stickers being handed out, artwork being displayed and created, photos being taken, food being prepared and even music being played. The events feel like a creative commune, it reminds me of the early 90's hardcore gigs, with fliers and stickers, badges and just general niceness. Thi sevent ...
