Kill team 16 - Compendium Death Guard

Image
The Death guard, a classic elite compendium team, still handy in a tournament. tons of wounds, disgustingly resilient and some neat weapons. I ended up with a lot of Death Guard figures that someone gifted me, I just painted them up randomly without any real feel for a team, they do make one up and they are also used in the Legionary team. The Compendum team also have the lovely poxwalkers to help round out the roster. T his is a bit of a mish mash of images, I need to take a proper group photo. It will happen.

Kill team 15 - Compendium Traitor Space Marines

Image
This is a straightforward box of CSM. They nicely fill all the roles needed for the Compendium team and can also drop in to the Legionary team if needed. Basic Khorne red and gold paint job. I really like these dudes, they hit hard and they are tough enough to handle my poor tactical choices. Not as tough as Death Guard, but there are more of them. And the faithful servants, the cultists.

Kill team 11 - Compendium Scions and Imperial Guard

Image
I love Imperial Guard, so I have a rew versions, I have converted two teams to proper 20 man Veteran Guard Rosters, but I have some figures left languishing in Compendium land. First up are a fire team (a compendium only concept) of Quar. I love the style and pose of these figures. I have a few more being converted to represent gunners and a radio guy. I know they are essentially filthy xenox, but to me they look like guards. The lack lustre poses, the duff equipment, the attitude... these are guards. I was going to bung the scions on here too, but they are all plasma in the style of KT18, I have another box to make up to get them to a proper Compendium roster to support the Quar, but that's a while away,,

Kill team 10 - Compendium Space Marine Grey Knights

Image
There are only five of these bad boys, I've not got around to painting the sixth one yet as I cannot match the blue silver... I've never played this team, I've been beaten by GKs a number of times, one day I shall have my revenge! These are old metal figures and they are on 25mm bases, as that's what they were sold with. I guess I should add a 25 to 32 converter ring, but I've not got around to it yet.

Kill team 07 - Compendium Space Marine Tacticals

Image
I've since given these guys away, so there will be a new set of Flesh Tearers replacing them soon. These are Dark Angel in the later green. Here's another set of Tacticals, these are primarily for the Age of Darkness mod, but they are configured to be suitable for normal Tacticals from the Compendium. Seeing the Primaris marines get up dated for Phobos and Incursor teams recently makes me think that a Tactical update is on it's way one day - may be in the new Annual??  Anyhow, here's my MkIV armour Dark Angel Death Wing squad. Done in HH era colours prior to the green stuff above. THe bases are in readiness for the Space Hulk In to the Dark release. I tried to get a spaceship deck feel to them. It's primarily grey with a bit of oil wash to add stains. The tools are left over from years ago.

Kill team 04 - Compendium Space Marine Infiltrators

Image
My infiltrators are not yet painted. I bought a box of them to make up a phobos team using some of my Incursors and Reivers. These are mostly converted a bit to make the Phobos specialists. I decided on the lovely yellow of the Fists as I didn't want another team of Templars and I thought it would make a nice contrast in the team. This is a WIP picture of the build, they are on my work bench now, so it will be the end of July before they are done.

Kill team 05 - Compendium Space Marine Reivers

Image
The reivers are more single pose marines, the first three coming from the First Strike box. A few minor conversions and again painted as the black Templars. Reivers have some neat tricks and equipment even as the Compndium versions. The Terror troop ploy gives you something other than BD to spend those CPs on. Grav Chures and Grapnels make movement fun.
