Saga, storage box for Hospitallers.

I finished off my Hospitallers and needed a method to get them safely into battle and back again. My first outing was in London so they needed to be rucksack and train proof.

I decided to go for a magnetic storage system and ordered a bunch of bits from warmag. The knights are all on 40mm bases, so there is plenty of ferritic attraction area.

I purchased self adhesive circular magnetic discs that just popped onto the bottom of my MDF bases. The fit was ok, I aligned them just with fingers, a 40mm hole would have made things easier.

I added discs to the warlord, knights and fatigue markers praying knights. They stuck to the magnetic paper base very well. Too well for the horses on only two legs... Any sticking or picking up needed to be done via the bases to stop damage.

I had an old box file that I added some shelves into. The shelves were just 10mm balsa I had lying about. I added the steel paper to the tops and everything fitted in and was secure.

Then I had this idea to make it look like a book. Obviously as these guys are a bit religious then the book could be a bible!

I ordered some leather look sticky back plastic and gave my gold paint markers a shake up and got to work.

I added couple of bits of 2mm MDF sheet to the front and back to extend them and a piece of foam to the spine to give it a bit of a curve and then covered the file. I stuck some paper to the edge of the pages and added a ton of thin lines.
