Complete? Sludge Raiders

Image
Recruited straight out of Wiltshire's dankest village, the Sludge raiders have devoted their foetid existence to the furtherance of chaos across the known and unknown universe. Travelling from kill zone to kill zone via the vagaries of the warp. Becoming more twisted and sodden with every jump. They arrive with the rains, torrential downpours of acid rain turn fields to mire. The stomp of hobnailed boots turns the mire into sludge populated by the maleavolence of the raiders. Your land is our murk, our boots crush your feeble resistance and out knives slice the puckered skin from your failed existence. These figures are based on 3D prints from Knucklebones miniatures. I have mirrored and chopped them up, added bits and bobs and sculpted a bit of anatomy here and there  The Ogryn bits were again 3d prints and I stuck a lump of clay on them to create a greatcoat. I wanted a dirty brown, sludgers look inspired by Mad God and a WWI aesthetic. I'm contemplating adding the 20th opera...

Two more sludgers from Knucklebones miniatures. The enforcer has been converted to powerfist.

Sludge Raider - Melta Gunner

Image
The melta gunner for the Chirton Maggot Sludge Raiders is now recruited. The melta is an awesome weapon in Kill team, the mortal wounds are unstoppable and just great at melting elites. With the Gaze of the gods on this dude you can smash in 4MWs without effort. He's a must take operative. Here is my gunner, started off with a Knucklebones flamer and chopped most of that stuff off. I added a cloak thing at the back to hide the mess removing the tank makes and I tacked a 3D printed melta on the front of him. I then added a couple of arms and scunged up the melta, adding spikes, nuts and spikes and rust. I used GW Typhus and DD rust effect. This is the WiP photo...

Sludge raider plasma gunner

Image
Here's the plasma gunner, converted from the flamer print. I chopped the tank off of the back and added a back pack to cover up the mess. I sculpted a flamer style front end on the gun and used a different head. I was trying for a more Blanchitsu style, hence the reds and whites used. I'm not sure if I achived it, but it's done. 16 more to go...

Blooded - The Chirton Maggot Sludge Raiders

Image
I've liked the look of the Blooded for a long time, traitor guard with all the corruption and heresy that they bring. But I wanted something dirtier, more grim, more dark than the offerings from the Evil Empire. While browsing for Warmaster houses on MMF I found Knucklebones minis. Wow, these creations have the sludge factor; dank, dirty, analogue, organic. I knew I had to have some. I joined the tribe and started to plan my team. A full kill team roster needs 20 figures, so that's what I plan to make. Knucklebones has some decent figures to base some simple conversions on. I'm going to use the modular melee troopers as the main base prints, with mirrors to give me a selection of eight base bodies and loads of arms. The Enfields will be my Lasguns (Lesguns) and there are nasty melee weapons a plenty. I've used the flamer as my base for heavy weapons, painting one straight up as a flamer. I'm also, building a plasma and melta and I've not yet decided on the grena...

Just another kroot

Image
I've been playing Farstalkers in my local league and it made me realise that I could do with both heavy gunners. For Gallowdark the flamer dude is hot, but on Open the extra range of the other gun is something I was interested in. Here he is, the arms from the ITD box and a carnivore body.
