Kill Team Vespids done

This is the full vespid team from the Hivestorm box. It's a basic build with no tough choices, just specialists and warriors. There's five warriors and five specialists plus a recon drone. The drone and the leader had nest bonuses that mean they need to be kept pretty safe. But those bonuses are linked to special rules that are very useful and are best served up front. I've only played one game so far and that was on Gallowdark so the flying was pretty compromised. The Skyblast was phenomenal, but I rolled four Crits, pretty much any weapon is incredible with four Crits... More games due very soon. These models are very big, so they need magnetised bases of huge foam.

I painted almost exactly how they are painted on the video by Darcey Bono. I've not added the black sponged camo yet, it's quite hard under the wings

Kill team 33 - Warp Coven (WD 469)

 Here I am trying to catch up on the bespoke teams. This is the Warp Coven, came out in the White Dwarf issue 469 and replaced the Compendium Thousands sons list. I'll probably not complete a full 20 man roster for this team, just stick with the basic cool options. I do have loads of tzaangors and a full box of marines, so it might happen one day. The people who know suggest that a good list is three sorcerers, the chain cannon and a bunch of tzaangors, so that's where I'm headed to start. I got given a box of marines for Christmas last year and I've used that to make my sorcerers. The box only comes with one, but with a few simple mods I made the three. I added some green stuff swirly bits, created a staff from a bit of brass rod, green stuff and some icon bits and then added a khopesh made from plasticard.  They are painted in two colours really, I sprayed them gold, added a wash of a mix od sepia and brown and then added the blue bits. Necropolis28 - Crimson miasma event

 Another indie game I really enjoy is Necropolis 28, a game set in a world where everything is dead, even the plants. The game is described as diorama skirmish and is a mother lode of superb scenic modelling. A game takes place on a small board 16" square, the board should be a beautiful diorama setting that ghosts, skeletons and zombies scurry about collecting relics and treasure. They are controlled by infamous lich's who cast spells to punish enemies or raise the dead, again. I went to an event organised specifically for Necropolis 28 in July. It was taking place in a church hall in Stadhampton. A beautiful venue and very appropriate, being surrounded by a grave yard. The event was an absolute blast, we all had an incredible time. There were fantastic diorama boards in abundance, beautiful and awe inspiring models and hardly anyone really cared if they won or not. Forbidden Psalm - More buildings

I enjoyed building the houses for FP so I thought I'd make some more, there is an inn that you can visit between sc enarios to recover wounds and do some dodgy trades. It's called the Hogs head, which I discovered is some sort of Harry Potter reference. I wanted to make a nice inn, so I did. The cla ssic pub is on the corner, so that's what I based the building on, a corner pub. I also made a small shop which sells weapons; Forbes and Idden Arms. I made a small school type building and also a couple more generic houses. T hey look pretty neat on my paved area. The eagle eyed will notice I raised the pub sign later on to make it less likely to be walked in to.
